24 Days Indochina Easy Rider Tour- Covering the distance from Siem Reap to Hanoi is a massive journey. Since a continuous, direct border-to-border Easy Rider route doesn't formally span the entirety of these two regions, this itinerary combines regional Easy Rider loops in Vietnam with overland/air travel for the border transition to deliver a 24-day trip. This 24-Day Easy Rider Itinerary covers an epic cross-border route starting from the temples of Siem Reap, crossing northern Cambodia, slicing through the Bolaven Plateau in Southern Laos, and entering Vietnam via the Central Highlands. From there, you will ride the scenic Ho Chi Minh Trail, experience the Ha Giang Loop, and finish in the historic capital of Hanoi.

Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival – Angkor Exploration ( D )

Activities: Pick up at the airport or your hotel a day before . Rest day for bikes; explore Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm via tuk-tuk. Meet your Easy Rider guides for bike fitting and route briefing at local restaurant .

Day 2: Siem Reap to Koh Ker & Preah Vihear (210 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Ride northeast on rural highways away from the crowds.

Highlights: Explore the pyramid temple of Koh Ker hidden in the jungle, then ascend to the cliffside temple of Preah Vihear bordering Thailand. 

Day 3: Preah Vihear to Stung Treng (150 km)( B, L, D )

Route: Flat, easy cruise through remote northern Cambodian villages and dry forest.

Highlights: Cross the Mekong River via ferry or bridge; stay in the quiet river town of Stung Treng.

Day 4: Stung Treng (Cambodia) to Don Det / 4,000 Islands (Laos) (70 km) ( B, L, D )

Border Crossing: Exit Cambodia at Trapeang Kriel; enter Laos at Nong Nok Khiene.

Highlights: Leave bikes at the pier and take a boat to Don Det Island. Relax by the Mekong River. 

Day 5: Don Det to Champasak & Pakse (140 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Ride north along Route 13 parallel to the Mekong.

Highlights: Visit Wat Phou, an ancient Khmer Hindu temple complex older than Angkor Wat. Overnight in the bustling town of Pakse.

Day 6: Pakse to the Bolaven Plateau Loop (120 km)( B, L, D )

Route: Winding asphalt climb up into the cooler mountain air.

Highlights: Ride through lush coffee plantations and stop at giant volcanic waterfalls like Tad Fane and Tad Yuang. 

Day 7: Bolaven Plateau to Attapeu (130 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Descend from the plateau on twisting mountain roads toward the Vietnamese border.

Highlights: Pristine forest scenery and traditional Laotian ethnic minority villages.

Day 8: Attapeu (Laos) to Pleiku (Vietnam) – International Border Crossing (160 km)( B, L, D )

Border Crossing: Cross the remote, mountainous Bo Y Border Pass into Vietnam’s Kon Tum province.

Highlights: Shift to the rugged terrain of Vietnam's Central Highlands. Overnight in Pleiku. 

Day 9: Pleiku to Hoi An (290 km) ( B, L )

Route: A long, spectacular day riding down from the high plateaus to the coast via the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Highlights: Dramatic mountain descents changing from pine forests to tropical coastlines.

Day 10: Rest Day in Hoi An ( B )

Tailor clothes, explore the UNESCO Ancient Town, or lounge at An Bang Beach. 

Day 11: Hoi An to Hue via Hai Van Pass (140 km) ( B, L )

Route: Pure coastal asphalt. Ride the famous Hai Van Pass ("Pass of Ocean Clouds").

Highlights: Breathtaking ocean vistas, coastal lagoons, and seafood lunch on the beach. Explore Hue's Imperial Citadel in the afternoon. 

Day 12: Hue to Khe Sanh (170 km)( B, L, D )

Route: Head inland toward the Laos border along the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).

Highlights: Visit the historic Dakrong Bridge and the Khe Sanh Combat Base museum. 

Day 13: Khe Sanh to Phong Nha-Ke Bang (230 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Ride the western branch of the Ho Chi Minh Highway—arguably the best riding in Vietnam.

Highlights: Completely isolated jungle roads carving through monolithic limestone karst mountains. 

Day 14: Rest Day in Phong Nha ( B )

Activities: Take a boat into Phong Nha Cave

Day 15: Phong Nha to Tan Ky (270 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Cruise north through changing terrain of rolling hills and agricultural valleys.

Highlights: Stop at the Ho Chi Minh historical road and stay in the rural town of Tan Ky—the official historic starting point of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Day 16: Tan Ky to Ninh Binh (180 km)( B, L, D )

Route: Ride through central farmlands toward the coastal karst formations.

Highlights: Explore Tam Coc cavescby small rowboat, Muoi Mountain and Thaivi temple, drifting underneath massive limestone cliffs. 

Day 17: Ninh Binh to Hanoi (100 km) & Night bus to Ha Giang ( B, L, D )

Route: Quick morning ride north to Hanoi.

Highlights: short city tour around and a fresh glass of Bia Hoi (local draft beer), and drop off heavy luggage before boarding the overnight sleeper bus to Ha Giang .

Day 18: Ha Giang City to Quan Ba to Yen Minh (100 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: The official start of the legendary Ha Giang Loop. Steep climbs begin instantly.

Highlights: Ride through the Quan Ba Heaven Gate and view the famous Twin Mountains.

Day 19: Yen Minh to Dong Van (80 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Steep, extreme mountain switchbacks through the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark.

Highlights: Dramatic canyons, local H'mong villages, and a visit to the historic H'mong King’s Palace. 

Day 20: Dong Van to Meo Vac to Bao Lac (110 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Ride over the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass.

Highlights: Peer down thousands of feet to the turquoise Nho Que River below. The most visually stunning riding of the entire 24 days. 

Day 21: Bao Lac to Pac Bo caves (130 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Winding pass descents along fast, newly paved valley roads.

Highlights: Conquer the 14-switchback Khau Coc Cha Pass, grabbing a short hike up the viewpoint. Visit Pac Bo before check in Me homestay 

Day 22: Pac Bo to Ban Gioc Waterfall (120 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Ride right up along the international border line with China.

Highlights: Marvel at Ban Gioc Waterfall, the largest border waterfall in Asia. Nguom Ngao caves. Stay at a local Nung ethnic homestay.

Day 23: Ban Gioc to Ba Be National Park (170 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Southwest mountain backroads via scenic valleys.

Highlights: Descend into the lush rainforest surrounding Ba Be Lake, the largest natural fresh water lake in Vietnam.

Day 24: Ba Be Lake to Hanoi (220 km) ( B, L )

Route: Transition from rural, mountain asphalt back down into the Red River Delta plains.

Highlights: Ride past vast tea plantations and rural farming communities before re-entering the bustling traffic flow of Hanoi. End The Tour At Your Own Hotel.
