9 Days Siem Reap To Pakse and Hoian- Nine days is the absolute minimum timeframe required to complete an overland Easy Rider journey from Siem Reap to Hoi An via Southern Laos. This high-endurance, cross-border itinerary covers approximately 1,100 kilometers across three countries, moving from the plains of Cambodia through the waterfalls of Pakse, Laos, and across the Truong Son mountain range into Vietnam via the Bo Y Border Gate.Because of the vast distances, this itinerary requires 5 to 7 hours of daily motorcycle riding. It minimizes rest days to ensure you hit all milestones safely.

Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival – Angkor Exploration ( D )

Activities: Pick up at the airport or your hotel a day before . Rest day for bikes; explore Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm via tuk-tuk. Meet your Easy Rider guides for bike fitting and route briefing at local restaurant .

Day 2: Siem Reap to Koh Ker & Preah Vihear (210 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Ride northeast on rural highways away from the crowds.

Highlights: Explore the pyramid temple of Koh Ker hidden in the jungle, then ascend to the cliffside temple of Preah Vihear bordering Thailand. 

Day 3: Preah Vihear to Stung Treng (150 km)( B, L, D )

Route: Flat, easy cruise through remote northern Cambodian villages and dry forest.

Highlights: Cross the Mekong River via ferry or bridge; stay in the quiet river town of Stung Treng.

Day 4: Stung Treng (Cambodia) to Don Det / 4,000 Islands (Laos) (70 km) ( B, L, D )

Border Crossing: Exit Cambodia at Trapeang Kriel; enter Laos at Nong Nok Khiene.

Highlights: Leave bikes at the pier and take a boat to Don Det Island. Relax by the Mekong River. 

Day 5: Don Det to Champasak & Pakse (140 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Ride north along Route 13 parallel to the Mekong.

Highlights: Visit Wat Phou, an ancient Khmer Hindu temple complex older than Angkor Wat. Overnight in the bustling town of Pakse.

Day 6: Pakse to the Bolaven Plateau Loop (120 km)( B, L, D )

Route: Winding asphalt climb up into the cooler mountain air.

Highlights: Ride through lush coffee plantations and stop at giant volcanic waterfalls like Tad Fane and Tad Yuang. 

Day 7: Bolaven Plateau to Attapeu (130 km) ( B, L, D )

Route: Descend from the plateau on twisting mountain roads toward the Vietnamese border.

Highlights: Pristine forest scenery and traditional Laotian ethnic minority villages.

Day 8: Attapeu (Laos) to Pleiku (Vietnam) – International Border Crossing (160 km)( B, L, D )

Border Crossing: Cross the remote, mountainous Bo Y Border Pass into Vietnam’s Kon Tum province.

Highlights: Shift to the rugged terrain of Vietnam's Central Highlands. Overnight in Pleiku. 

Day 9: Pleiku to Hoi An (290 km) ( B, L )

Route: A long, spectacular day riding down from the high plateaus to the coast via the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Highlights: Dramatic mountain descents changing from pine forests to tropical coastlines.
