12 Days Phnom Penh Easy Rider To Siem Reap

A 12-day Phnom Penh "Easy Rider" or cycling journey to Siem Reap takes you off the beaten path through Cambodia's lush countryside, local villages, and ancient temples. The total distance covers roughly 800 kilometers over 12 days of riding, broken up by cultural stops and wildlife excursions. An itinerary from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap on an "Easy Rider" motorbike tour (where you ride your own bike or sit on the back of a professional guide's motorcycle) is an incredible way to see the authentic, rural heart of Cambodia. Taking 12 days for this route allows for a massive, winding loop through the countryside, cardamoms, or the wild northeast, rather than just driving the direct 5-hour highway.

Day 1 : Phnom Penh Arrival ( L ,D )

Pick you up from the airport - Our tour begins in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. We will take the day to get you acquainted with Cambodia’s recent history. We’ll visit the S21 Genocide Museum, the infamous Killing Fields, and the bustling Russian Market. Next, we’ll visit the private quarters of the Royal Palace, which is now home to the royal family. Located on the northern territory of the grounds is the Silver Pagoda, the most sacred temple in the country. In the late afternoon, we will brief you about the trip ahead over a few cold beers, followed by a meal at a local restaurant on the riverfront.

Day 2 : Phnom Penh - Snuol ( B , L , D )

Leaving the chaos of Phnom Penh, we’ll cross the mighty Mekong river by ferry, after which we’ll head north, following the river before crossing back over on a one-kilometer bamboo bridge towards the riverside town of Kampong Cham. There, we’ll stop for lunch before finishing the day with a ride through the rubber plantations that lead to the city of Snuol.

Day 3 : Snuol - Sen Monorom ( B , L , D )

Today it’s up to you to decide: should we cruise along the old “King’s Highway” or ride up into the winding mountain roads? In the afternoon you’ll have the option to visit an elephant sanctuary or the breath-taking Bou Sra waterfall which cascades over three stages.

Day 4 : Sen Monorom - Banlung ( B , L , D )

As we glide through the Mondulkiri province, we’ll ride along with parts of the infamous “Death Highway” –– no fear! It is not mortally dangerous but merely trying. The highway offers a mix of dirt, sand, and mud tracks, as well as river crossings. By the end of the day, we will have arrived in the beautiful Ratanakiri province.

Day 5: Banlung ( B, L, D )

Rest up! Banlung has a lot to offer: located amid a dense tropical forest, it has an almost perfectly circular shape and turquoise waters to relax in. You can ride out to one of the many waterfalls, visit a remote hill tribe or relax by the clear waters of the Yeak Laom volcanic lake.

Day 6 : Banlung - Stung Treng ( B , L , D )

If you’re feeling up for it, let’s hit the trails! Offering an exhilarating ride through sand and gravel tracks as well as several river crossings, and local trails will be difficult but rewarding. An easier option takes you directly west to our destination, Stung Treng, where you can ride alongside the Mekong river and explore local villages.

Day 7 : Stung Treng - Laos Borders ( B , L , D )

We’ll cross the Mekong river in the morning and turn north to meet with the river again at the border of Cambodia and Laos. Here, we’ll hop on a wooden, long-tail boat in search of the rare Irrawaddy dolphin. Returning to our bikes, we’ll visit the Mekong rapids and then set out on the dirt roads that will bring us to Preah Vihear province.

Day 8: Choam Ksan Ker ( B, L, D )

An early morning cycle up winding mountain roads will lead us to the spectacular mountain top temple of Preah Vihear, which is situated between the border of Cambodia and Thailand. Heading back down the mountain, we’ll set course for the remote temples of Koh Ker.

Day 9: Kok Ker - Siem Reap( B, L, D )

Koh Ker, the former capital of the Khmer Empire, is home to over 180 temples and sanctuaries. We’ll hit up several of the most remarkable of these architectural monuments in the morning before setting out toward our final destination: Siem Reap.

Day 10 : Siem Reap visit Angkor Temple by Car ( B , L , D )

Today, we will visit all the main temples of Angkor by private vehicle (no dirt bike). After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred by private car and a local English Speaking Guide to visit all the main temples in Angkor, starting with Phnom Bakheng, Angkor Wat, and Ta Prohm. Lunch in the local restaurant and after lunch; you will be enjoying a little walk through the jungle to visit Preah Khan temple and then Angkor Thom City. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 11: Siem Reap - Countryside & Boat Ride & Kayaking With Sunset ( B, L, D )

Today, we will enjoy our dirt bike riding through the countryside, visit the local villages, and rice paddies, and take some time to play with your bikes in the muddy fields. And then take a boat ride to visit Floating Village, and enjoy Kayaking in the Tonle Sap Lake. Disembark the boat and continue to ride our bikes to visit other villages and local pagodas until late afternoon we will rest to view the sunset and return to Siem Reap overnight.
